It is all Gone...... I fear for good

Post by BCCougars » Fri Sep 10, 2010 4:37 pm

The other day our Ipod touch was synced without the apps. The next day we syned and reloaded the apps. Everything is gone. All the teams, players and games. I don't think I have ever exported my data so I believe it is all gone. Or is there any hope that it can be recovered?

Help and Thanks in advance,

Brian

First, try the "all leagues" trick.
Go to league manager, enable ALL leagues, then check to see if your data is there.
this has been found to be the most frequent solve for folks concerend about "lost data"

Second, are you sure you never used Opton > "export"?
(if you have a team web site, chances are you have exported as you export after every game to update the team web site, if you have exported, all you have to do is import to recover back to that state. *** tip for any reading *** please export regularly, it is a easy way to safeguard/backup your data, in case of lost hardware or data failure)

third, do you synch with a mac or a pc?
Do you sync with itunes on a mac? do you also have time machine enabled by chance? If so, there may be a techie way to recover, (itunes creates a backup. time machine creates backups too,).. (if this is your situation, let us know, because there may be a techie way to recover, but it will take some research) ..

Apple's sync with iTunes process leaves a lot to be desired. We have no idea why in their minds somebody would ever want to remove applications from their device when they are synchronizing. They make it way too easy to say yes to synchronization without first copying your purchases from your device to iTunes.

If you have not exported, then we would not have any copies of your data and the only hope would be that it exists on your computer in some backup form (Time Machine or iTunes device backup).

As OhioTex noted, it is a good idea to export regularly just for the security of knowing your data is safe.
