Batter hot/Cold chart

Post by Jasperbhouse » Mon Aug 30, 2010 5:11 am

I would love a feature That would show the strike zone for a batter and show on which pitch locations and pitch types The batter has hits or outs.

I assume this should be easy possible as all necesarry data is recorder right?

Hi Jasper -

This kind of information really falls into "analytics" which is beyond just scoring and statistics which is where we have focused our efforts. Look for more announcements in the analytics space coming in the future.

Thank you.

FTM beat me to the punch..

Packaging This type of reporting functionality i think is one of the things contemplated with future 'analytic' add on type packages.

What you have now is the pitch by pitch record which shows location. (if you marked pitch location)

how diligent are you in tracking pitch-by- pitch details for speed , type and location? do you do this every game every pitch? How frequently do you score games?.

I am asking because I have found that pitch tracking detail seems to used by fewer people than I expected and mostly advanced teams/levels and is commonly skipped in many (most) youth and rec ball games.

I keep score one game every week, now i can only use the stats for pitchers. The reason i would love to see this info is to see strenghts and weaknesses of batters.

I use pitch type and location not speed whenever i can. About 80 percent of time, although i am quite new to this software i have been keeping track using old fashioned pitching charts on paper.
