I wrote a little review about the software here, and like it a lot. Here are a few suggestions for future updates. Sorry if they are repeats:
* Ability to select multiple players in the lineup screen and toggle them all as "batting" or not. Seems like too many "taps" as it currently is set up.
* The pitch location thing works great, but I seem to have difficulty tapping the pitch type buttons reliably. Sometimes I have to try 2-3 times. I also found the pitch velocity wheel thing to be hard to use.
* PDF scorebook output doesn't include a pitch type color key.
* Ability to send your own tweets (not automatically generated ones) during a game.
* Ability to check your twitter feed during a game within the app.
* More info on iscorecast--hit location, pitch location, pitch type--shown graphically and not just with text (i.e. more like MLB Gameday).
* Option to include the scorer's manual comments on plays on the scorecard printout somewhere, maybe as footnotes. Doesn't even have to be on the same page as the scorecard.
Cheers,
Justin
A few suggestions
Re: A few suggestions
jinaz,
Welcome to the board. I'm not FTM but I'll comment on a couple that I know.
1) Has been suggested and under consideration on FTM's long list of requested To Do's.
2) Not sure, seem to work ok when I'm scoring a game on my iTouch. Are you using iTouch or iPad?
3) Previously suggested, I'm not sure where on priority list is exists.
4) I think this will come available in the new release compatible with 4.0. Currently we have to close iScore to open another app. It is my understanding with 4.0 multiple apps can be open and FTM is working to incorporate that feature.
5) Not sure on this one
6) This has been suggested but I'm not sure on priority.
7) Previously suggested as well, FTM working on it.

Re: A few suggestions
Thanks for the great review... as noted, many of the suggestions have been made and will be included in future releases.
We did notice in the review you said that hit charts were only available on the Player Card. If you log in to your Admin Website (go to Options->Admin Website to see how), on the "Teams" tab there, if you click the icon that looks like a baseball field, it actually gives a PDF report of hit charts for all players on the team.
Nice to see a review where someone truly used the product.

Re: A few suggestions
Thanks to everyone for the responses.

I think they're just smaller buttons and thus harder to hit(?). If know space is a limitation, but maybe the touchable space can be made larger (vertically) around each one (e.g. give the buttons borders that go right up next to each other)? It's just a suggestion. I still use it, it just gets annoying to hit the same button 2-3 times in a row to mark a curveball or fastball.
Cheers,
Justin
I'm using an iPhone 3GS. If I hold the phone in one hand and touch with my other hand's index finger, the pitch selection buttons probably do work for me most of the time. If I hold my phone with my right hand and touch with that hand's thumb, I have a hard time getting them to respond. The rest of the interface works fine with the thumb. ...if you have a beer or something in the left hand, using two hands is thoroughly impractical...danmcc wrote:2) Not sure, seem to work ok when I'm scoring a game on my iTouch. Yeah, so I completely missed the admin website. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I've updated the review accordingly, as the hit chart report is fantastic. It's also nice to have another option for editing rosters.FTMSupport wrote:We did notice in the review you said that hit charts were only available on the Player Card. Re: A few suggestions
Justin..
just wait... one of the best features in iScore is FTM and their support. they have been very strong in customer service and continuing to evolve the product.. it started out good and has gotten better with each new version..
many of us are eagerly awaiting the next release (hopefully coming very very soon, nudge nudge FTM). historically FTM, adds new features based on both their insights and customer feedback... with updates being free, it is a very nice bonus.. I would expect to see many of the suggestions implemented in future releases.
another thing that speaks volumes to the app and its application to scoring baseball games. I know some customers who have actually bought iPads, just to run the app. how about that, the 10$ app driving the 500$ hardware
best wishes.

Re: A few suggestions
Funny that's me! Except it's an $800.00 app for this app. Still learning. Do most people use iscore website or is there better?
