Hi,
Last night a pitcher entered the game who wasn't on my roster. When I clicked to the substitution screen, I didn't see an easy way to add the pitcher.
I scrambled around to the Original Lineups screen and added the pitcher there, then went back and subbed him in.
Did I miss an easier way to do this?

New player add on substitution?
Re: New player add on substitution?
you did not miss anything. you did it right.
a player must be in the "starting lineup" to be available to substitute in.
so you must add the player to the misc starting game line up before you can enter them as a substitute - that is just how the program and underlying database work at this time.

Re: New player add on substitution?
We have on our enhancement list to have the ability to add new players from the substitution screen as well. We currently assume all players that can play in the game are in the starting lineup, and the ones that are not playing just have Batting=NO, but there can be times when you may not have the full list of players prior to game time for whatever reason, so we will come up with an easier way than going back to the Starting Lineup to add the players.

Re: New player add on substitution?
my caution on making it too easy to add a new player via substitution screen is to not go back to the version 1 days when the substitution vs starting line up screens were so blurred we spent all day trouble shooting substitution vs starting line up issues.....

Re: New player add on substitution?
We agree we are better off now than we were then... far fewer issues with the current way of doing things. We will be sure anything we add is VERY obvious what is taking place.
