In searching through prior posts, the consensus seems to be that iScore handles passed balls correctly in regards to earned run calculations. I had the following sequence a few nights ago (this represents one half inning):
#2 Ball, Ball, Foul, Strike (looking), Ball, Ball, Walk
#6 Strike (looking), Foul, Ball, Strikeout Swinging
#8 Ball, Strike (looking), Ball, [#2 advances to Second on Pass Ball], Ground out, [#2 advances to Third]
#1 Strike (looking), Foul, Foul, Ball, [#2 Scores on Wild Pitch], Ball, Foul, Foul, Foul, Foul, Strikeout Swinging
In the stats, in gives the pitcher credit for an earned run. However, it seems to me the runner would have been stranded on third had it not been for the passed ball.
Any ideas? Or will this have to wait for the upcoming "earned run override"?
Thanks, Eric

Re: Need Help on Passed Ball/Earned Run
Our next release will have the earned run overrides which will allow fixing this easily. (Next question when we say this is always "when"... we do not have a date yet, but are hoping very soon.)
This is actually a scenario we will make iScore handle betterin the future as well --- currently we treat Wild Pitches the same way as hits are treated for ERA calculations (i.e. internally calculating runners could advance multiple bases and thus negating an error / passed ball for runners advancing). We will modify this in a future release to treat Wild Pitches as only advancing runners a single base (which of course still leaves some judgment call where a scorekeeper could still determine a Wild Pitch could have advanced a runner two bases, but it is much less likely than a hit advancing a runner 2 bases).

Re: Need Help on Passed Ball/Earned Run
Thanks, I hadn't considered it was the wild pitch causing the issue.
Re: Need Help on Passed Ball/Earned Run
Until this update is released it makes iScore absolutely unreliable for true pitching stats and I know we don't want to re-score games AFTER it comes out. Manual overrides for earned runs and rbis are a must.

Eddie,
Fortunately the next release is expected very soon. There are a lot of positives with this app without the perfection for earned/unearned editing.

Re: Need Help on Passed Ball/Earned Run
In the past, issues such as this haven't required rescoring. Usually you have to select the game, press play and then exit the game. This forces a recalc of the stats and should apply any fixes that have been made.
