In the past two years in this league, at this level, I have NEVER seen of or heard of a coach walking a player intentionally. The level of strategy you are describing is waay beyond 99% of our players in this group. Ok, so I got this explained thoroughly (not that it is any less weird, but its what we do)
Win is 2 points, tie is 1 point, loss is no points.
If there is a tie in the standings (two teams each win 3 games say)
then
they count the runs - if they remain tied
then
they count the bases touched.
