Out on bunt

Post by deanoc » Fri Jun 04, 2010 11:22 am

Any way to add a sub-screen on the Out > Bunt option? It would be helpful if we could have: Out in field of play, Third strike bunt foul and Third strike bunt missed options.

Out, Bunt is an option... you can do that now.

For third strike bunt foul and third strike bunt missed, statistically they are nothing more than swinging third strikes. The only place any notation other than that would ever be seen would maybe be the pitch by pitch or play by play listing. You could use Notes to indicate that now, and it would be exactly as much detail as an actual button would offer.

We do have "bunt foul" as third strike option on our list of enhancements, but it is currently a low priority. "Bunt missed" is the same as any swinging strike. (Same for "checked swings", etc.)

as mentioned before, small ball is a much bigger part of the fast-pitch softball game than it is in baseball .. so stats on bunts attempts/fails (all types, .. sac, drag, slap, and attempts ) is something that does have value and why we try and tack on the side. having the elemental data capture that we could then use would be helpful. Because as a bater you really do something different at the plate. understand that you do not distinguish bunt strikes from normal strikes now, ..but that does not mean you could not in the future. That said.. of course i understand why it is a low priority.
