Can anyone explain the difference? We are in a tournament this weekend and can only bat 9 and have the option of using DP/Flex. How is this done in iscore on the ipad?

The DP/Flex is a complicated version of the DH in baseball.

Basically it allows you to have 9 on offense, 9 on defense, but 10 in the game.

FYI - Most Basic Definition..

Designated Player (DP)
The player who is initially listed on the lineup card in the team’s batting
order but not in the defensive lineup.

Flex Player
The player who is initially listed in the 10th spot on the lineup card may
play any defensive position and may only enter the game on offense in the
designated player’s batting position.

Thanks but neither link works any other places I can look? Have you ever used DP/Flex with iscore? Is it fairly self explanatory? Is there some where in the tutorials that goes over this?

I just tried each link again... and they both work fine for me.

Using DP/Flex in iScore is not the hard part, the hard part is making sure you understand the rule, and know upfront who is deisgnated what. If you are the coach, or know his plan, not hard to set up the line up and then track in iScore.

iScore operates with the "score what you see model" so you just set the line up, and then check each defense player position each half inning and each batter that comes to the plate is correct number.. iScore handles the notation on the scorebook for you.

I use it all the time (when we play ASA). Instead of selecting "Yes" for the batting prompt, use Flex or DP.
When setting up your lineup for the DP, list as "Out" for fielding and "DP" for batting.
The Flex player is assigned to a fielding position and "Flex" for batting. iScore knows to skip this position when on Offense.
Nothing in the tutorials that I could find. As indicated in other posts, umpires spend hours learning this rule, coaches spend years trying to figure out how to use it effectively.
You can accomplish the same thing just by listing the DP as a DH and selecting "No" for the Flex player for the Batting option. There are no special statistics that go along with the DP/Flex, so whatever works for you.

again, the hard part here is understanding the rule, not the key strokes in iScore.

How do you play the baseball game on the back of a dartboard? I bought a dartboard and on the back there is a game of baseball on it. I read through the instructions, and all it says about the baseball game is that it has the same rules of the real game. I know a lot about real baseball, but can't seem to figure out how to apply all of that to the dart game. Can someone give me some insight as to how to play it on darts?
