How would you score this?

Post by gingbear » Sat May 01, 2010 2:34 pm

Bases loaded. Pick off attempt at 1st. 1st baseman chases runner to 2nd. All runners advance. No out are made. Do you give the runners stolen bases? No obvious error occured. What would you do?

Thanks for the help.

If there was no error, seems it would be scored as a stolen base.

I agree. Runner from 1-2 would be a stolen base, all other runners advance "On the throw"

I use iscore for girls fastpitch softball. NCAA College Softball rules would score it a stolen base for all.

STOLEN BASE
SECTION 14. A stolen base is credited:
f. To a runner who advances to a base because of a pick-off play on another runner.

NFHS Softball rule 9.4 and NCAA Baseball rule 10.11 says that it must be without the aid of a putout, base hit or fielding (or battery) error. Battery errors to include wild pitches and passed balls. So it depends on what league you are scoring as to how you score it.
