Help Getting Started
Help Getting Started
I just activated a team website and need some help getting started. I am trying to upload photos and "fix up" the home page. I looked at the showcase pages and have seen great ideas, but I am unable (not smart enough) to recreate those ideas without some guidance. Is there a tutorial for the websites such as the iScore tutorials for setting up and scoring games? For instance, every photo I upload is HUGE and I can't figure out where or how to resize it.
I really appreciate anyone's help!

Re: Help Getting Started
We do not currently have a "tutorial" on customizing the websites. The customizations are really just a matter of going to the Settings and changing colors, adding background images, etc. The "Home Page" can be customized any way you like, and includes an editor that basically works like a word processor for those that don't know HTML. If you do know HTML, you can also just flip the editor to HTML mode and put in your custom HTML there.
The photos should be resized to the size you want prior to uploading them into the team website. There are many programs that can resize images for you. If you are using Windows, the built in "MSPaint" has resizing capabilities. Just open the image, select resize, then you can either scale by percentage or tell it exactly what dimensions you would like the image to be. There are also similar programs on the Mac and other platforms.

Thank you for replying
what size do you recommend for pictures to upload into the photo gallery? Also, how do I insert a photo on the home page if the image is saved on my hard drive rather than a URL address? Sorry to be so needy.

Re: Help Getting Started
We would suggest making the images about 400-600 pixels wide so they fit nicely in the Photos area.
To add a picture to the home page, first upload it to the Photos area, then right click on the picture to get the URL, and you can then use that URL when creating the home page.

FTM, I thought I saw this in another post, but can't find it. Since you address pixel size for embedding Picasa photos here, I thought this would be as good a place as any to ask this somewhat related question....
I am about to embed a Google Calendar that I created for our team. One of the things you can do at Google is adjust the size and colors of the IFRAME-embedded calendar before getting the code to paste into our iscore website. Is there a particular size for the calendar that works best for embedding?

And, actually, as I go back to my web page to look at this again, I do not see what I thought was there before - a box to enter the Google Calendar IFRAME embedded code on the Calendar page of our iscore website, to take the place of the Calendar that appears there now. Is this no longer possible? If it is, any tips?

Re: Help Getting Started
Yes, you can embed the calendar. Just log in as the Administrator of your website and go to the Calendar page. You can then substitute the Google Calendar.
The width and height of the IFRAME is set to 100% of the space available in the browser, so depending on how wide you set your leftmost buttons to, and the width of screen you would like to support, the width of the calendar may vary.
We would recommend always going with the smallest width that you think still looks good so that it will fit in the smallest resolution monitors possible (and people won't necessarily have to maximize their browser to take full advantage of the site).

Re: Help Getting Started
OK, thanks. I think that was what was confusing me. In the past I opened the web site after having already checked in through iscorecentral on the admin page. Today, I just opened our web page with the URL, and then entered the login info (apparently not enough to login as administrator?). Perhaps this could be streamlined, or an admin login added on web page without the need to login separately on the admin page? Or am I missing something?

Re: Help Getting Started
You should be able to log in directly from the Team Website by clicking the login button there and entering your Admin user name/password (the same one you would use for the Admin Website).
