Same Device ID for Two Devices? (responded)
Same Device ID for Two Devices? (responded)
I have an iPad and an iPhone, each of which has the iScore app. The Device ID on the two devices is the same (two devices, one ID). Is that ok? Here’s how I want to use the devices: I am the only user and I want each device to have the same info: teams, games, rosters. So that if I grab my iPad one game or my iPhone the next game that it won’t matter.
Re: Device IDs
I am very surprised to hear two iOS devices with the same device ID ..
Please verify exact same user ID on each device under OPTIONS ..
DEVICE-> ISCORE APP -> OPTIONS -> ADMIN WEBSITE -> USER ID and Password
if you do have same user ID, on two devices, that would be very unusual, (first i have heard of it in moderating this forum over 8+years).. but if so then you would be able to 'copy' the data base from deviceA to ADMIN WEBSITE to deviceB --back and forth using OPTION -> EXPORT and OPTION -> IMPORT. (You would need to option > export after ever game you score and option > import before every game you score to ensure the devices maintain the most up to date 'databaae')
Normally two devices have two device IDs and recomend registering to a common email and use OPTION> DATA SHAREING to move individual games between devices..

Re: Same Device ID for Two Devices?
Yes. Very odd. And confirmed. At Admin Website screen, user (device ID 10 digit/letter) and Password are identical on my iPad and my iPhone.
Logging into my account at iScoresports webpage shows three devices (the one mentioned above and two others). Perhaps the “other” two are on old devices since I cannot find a device I currently have with these other two IDs.
So I have two devices, one ID (not sure how but wish I could attach screenshots of ID on each device.). Given this, is there any reason to deregister and then register one if the two devices in order to get a distance device ID?

Re: Same Device ID for Two Devices?
ok, .comfirmed. Thanks
You are fairly unique w this but i am thinking a 'bonus' for you..having same ID for two devices..given your desire to use two interchangeably ( normally every new iscore download from app store generates a new device ID.. i am guessing you restored one of your devices from an itunes/icloud 'backup' and generated the duplicate)
NEXT step ...
Can u confirm that both devices have exactky the same data as you expect..'right now'.. if so, you should be good to go forward. ( i can not simulate, as i can't create dual device w same ID)
GO FORWARD...
If the two devices are in sych now, go forward.. when u make any change on one device you will need to manually update the admin server (option > export) and then update the second device with (option > import) ..
(Note: If you want to change one of the devices id you can easily by re isntalling app from apple store )

Re: Same Device ID for Two Devices?
Thank you. Your theory as to how this may have happened sounds reasonable to me. While I don’t recall, the restoration and backup process you described something nds like something I would do.
It turns out both devices currently have the same data. All I will do going forward then is to export from the one I am leaving then import to the one I am switching to.

Re: Same Device ID for Two Devices? (responded)
Still active OhioTex? If so, a quick related question. I recently scored a game on my iPhone. It shows up on my Admin Site in the list of Scorecasts. But it does not show up in the list of Games. Hence I can’t see it on my iPad as above, SAME device ID.).
Re: Same Device ID for Two Devices? (responded)
Hello pDonley… i am still around but have not scored a game in many a year…
you are no newbie.. and had a fairly ‘unique’ set up. I suspect you have already tried multiple troubleshooting things. I don’t want to sound condescending .. but my first guess is check “leagues”. If showing up on iscorecast but not on local device.. my starting point would be a league masking thing.
Feel free to share what you have tried.
