iscore baseball app (v5.008 or v 5.009).
  • * There is no forget password option on the iscore baseball app (v5.008 or v 5.009).

You get your device Id and set the password in the app under "OPTION >ADMIN > CHANGE PASSWORD"
    • You can use that ID and password to log on to my.iscorecentral.com admin web site to do secondary administrative things, but to score a game you do not need the admin site
You can register your baseball app device in two ways
    • from device "Option > Register"
    • my.iscorecentral.com > account tab

iscore central viewer app, (v1.33)
  • Does have A FORGET PASSWORD Option, under settings menu tap sign-in then tap forget password, enter valid email and you will get a confirmation email and link to reset password. (Check junk email folder). I just tested and it works

I click options, add on and then I get this screen. Is this how I register my iPads? Both iPads have the same account Id

OK, you are using an iPad and taking about the baseball app , not the central viewer - got it

( that screen shot is not the device registration screen. Use OPTION > REGISTER not "Option > add on" to register new devices)

Your devices will have unique device IDs
And You will find the ID under OPTION >ADMIN >

You also set your password there, (devices can have same password but will have different ID)

After you set your password for first time, do an option > export to initiate your admin web site

You can use your device ID and password to log on to your my.iscorecentral.com admin site

On the web site, account tab, you can register your device to a common email id

Or You can register your device directly from the iOS app to from OPTION > REGISTER

option > add on is for optional subscription services like Mlb or true media.

Thank you for the support.

I don't have Option > Admin on the app. I do have Option > Admin Website. When I click on those on both ipads they look the same with the same device ID and password.

When I click on Options > Register it looks like this with no ability to do anything.

Happy to share my device ID and password privately if that helps.

More than glad to help. no i do not think we need to share Device IDs (nor passwords) . but thanks for the offer.

Yes - "Option > Admin Website" is the same things as "Option > Admin" (I just shortened to "Option > Admin" - faster to type)

Yes - The "Option > Admin" screen shows your devices 10 digit ID and password. (and provides easy ability to change device password)
  • * the app and forum posts, will sometimes refer to the ID as "user ID" or "customer ID" or "device ID" - just consider all synonyms.

    * this device ID and password are used to sign into the Admin WebSite at my.iscorecentral.com
(note: the admin site is for secondary administrative tasks, not needed to score a game)
Yes - The screen shot in your last post is "option > register" screen.
  • * It Shows you have successfully registered that IPAD device to your @ yahoo email. (Before registering, that screen would have looked different, and asked for name and email, but that screen shot shows a succesfuly registered device.

    * however, It also shows , your SECOND IPAD DEVICE HAS NOT BEEN REGISTERED YET to that same email, if it was ,it would show up here too
SAME DEVICE ID ? - The DEVICE ID MUST be unique to each device.
  • the screen shot you provided shows one device ID as 921244DB37.
  • I will be SHOCKED if both devices have the exact same 10 digit ID. The odds of that happening are phenomenal.
((update: i have since learned the programing logic behind how duplicates can happens))
  • Please double check the ID on each device, they should be different. (Option > Admin)
  • If same,, and if you do not have any scored games on your second device, you can simply delete the iscore app, re download and re install the app on the device to get a new and unique device number.
REGISTER SECOND IPAD Device
  • once Device IDs are different, register the second IPAD,
  • easiest way to do in iPad is by "Option > Register", enter name and same @ yahoo email, and then go to your email and click on the link to confirm and set password.
ADMIN WEB SITE
  • * after registration, you can also use your Email and associated Password to sign into Admin Web site
    * reminder: you can score games without using the admin site. the admin site is only for secondary administrative tasks, not core to scoring a game.

FORGOTTEN EMAIL PASSWORD
* if this is the password you forgot, the password associated with your common @yahoo EMAIL Registration, then you can reset it,
Unfortunately the reset password process is a bit less intuitive than a normal "forget password" method.

To reset the email associated password
  • log into my.iscorecentral.com (use Device ID and password from "Option > Admin ...").
  • Go to Account tab my.iscorecentral.com
  • Unregister a device to start the password reset process, ( do this by Clicking the device number (in red) to unregister it) .
  • follow prompts, to un register and then re register, to provide name and email ,
  • you will be sent an email. click on link in email to confirm new password.
  • this password can be the same as used for the device in "Option > Admin ... " or can be different. your choice, but if different, will need to remember it

sorry you are having issues. What other questions do you have? Glad to Help answer them.
Want you to maximize your use and enjoyment of iScore.

Regards
OhioTex

Re: Device Registration issues

Post by Jmorisaki » Wed Mar 08, 2017 6:40 am

Thanks again OhioTex! This is great information. And FYI I love the use and ease of the app. The only issue that I have now is that I want to score two different games on two different iPads and sync them together.

Be prepared to be amazed ha. Both iPads have the same exact Device ID. I tried as you suggested and deleted the app and re-installed but having the same issue.

Do you think it's because it's a cloud version of the app in the Apple store? After deleting and downloading, I went into the register screen and it looks the same though. As if it's a app store version that when I download it will be the same version?

Thanks again. Not sure why I'm having these challenges.

Also, I can take a picture (and erase the password) of the device ID. But they are indeed the same.

Ok, I am amazed. :!:
(update: i have since learned the programing logic behind how this happens)

.................................................
Part 1 - DUPLICATE DEVICE ID
  • Same Device ID on two physical devices. < <Technical Support, HELP, How Can that happen.
(please note, i am not a programmer nor an employee of company, just a long time user and forum , HELPER)

When you say a cloud APP, i am not sure i follow. You download APP from iPad using App store. Like normal, Right?

If somehow a new/different download mechanism, where app is not local and running from a cloud or a virtual device, I am intrigued.

Please explain more on " a cloud version of the app in the Apple store?"
.......................................................

Part 2 - Scoring Two different games with Two devices and Cross sharing.
  • 100% doable in iScore. (devices can be iOS, or Android, Tablet or Phone)
  • scoring two games with different devices and Data sharing games back and forth is not a problem.
  • But i want to be clear, iscore is a single user app, not a multi user simultaneous app.
Two devices can't cross communicate real time and each score part of a game .
5 Step Workflow to "cross share Games".
  • Source Game Device:
    1) Option > Export after each game you score on source device
    • this updates the Admin web site, and creates a backup file for safety
    Receiving device,
    2) set the active league you want data transferred into under league manager
    • this is an undocumented tip, the Transfer inherits what ever active leagues you have on at the time)
    3) go to "Option > Data Share > Get from Web > and Enter the source device ID and Password
    • this is where each device needs a unique ID number, we have to solve Issue 1 above before this will work)
    • FYI the program will remember the 10 digits you last used, for next time
    4) pick from list of games on source device to transfer to target device
    • note, this list only shows games not on receiving device, once a game is even partially on target device, it will not show up on list, unless deleted from receiving device, so make sure you transfer completed not partial games
    5) follow prompts. select games to transfer, Verify Player team mapping, and import.

this works very fast and becomes second nature if managing multiple devices.
    .

.................................................
Part 1 - DUPLICATE DEVICE ID

Both iPads are using the same Apple ID. When I purchased the new iPad I registered as the same Apple ID which makes me wonder if because they're the same Apple ID then it's the carbon copy app when I download it from iTunes.

.................................................

Part 2 - Scoring Two different games with Two devices and Cross sharing.

100% doable in iScore. (devices can be iOS, or Android, Tablet or Phone)
scoring two games with different devices and Data sharing games back and forth is not a problem.
But i want to be clear, iscore is a single user app, not a multi user simultaneous app.
Two devices can't cross communicate real time and each score part of a game .

This is clear and that makes sense. I have two daughters and want to keep one source of truth. I totally understand it won't be live but at the end of the day I want both iPads to have the same data when the games are complete for the day

It seems like unless I can get both iPads to have different Device IDs I can't share data.

resolved off line. Case closed
* situation where user had two iPads with the Same Customer Device ID (option > Admin Website)

for those reading along:
* Having one apple ID and multiple devices is not an issue.

* the cause was intentional, When restoring from an iTunes backup, iscore tries to recover device ID
  • * what was not known at start of this thread was the two iPad devices were not brand new, one iPad had been in use for years, and the second iPad was new but was set up using an iTunes back up of the first device,
    * the iscore program tries to try replicate the device ID which is helpful for folks replacing or loosing their first device.
    * . what was different for this user is he wanted to have multiple devices with unique IDs.
* a User self resolvable solution (workaround) is to download a second copy of iscore app on new IPAD which then gave a new device ID. (aka Si Play version on new IPAD now vs FTM version before and on old IPAD).

* the official solution requires an email to support and they can give you steps to force a new customer ID.
