Pitchers not getting wins or losses in stats (answered)

Post by wilburburns » Mon Sep 19, 2016 6:40 pm

Scoring softball, we rarely play a complete 6 or 7 inning game due to time limits. So whenever the time limit is up, I just go to

Misc--> End Game

Obviously, one team wins and another team loses. However, when I go back to look at the team stats, the pitchers are not recorded with a win or loss. Am I doing something wrong, or why is this stat not being recorded?

I have 3 pitchers that have all pitched and won games, but all show 0 wins 0 losses 0 saves.

Additionally, how is their ERA and earned runs calculated in this situation?

By design, Iscore does not automatically calculate win, save hold etc because thease are rules set by the league you play. No standard across the board. You set those stats manually post game.

Here is a recent post that talks about different standards for fastpitch and baseball wins for mlb ncaa and nfhs

viewtopic.php?f=17&t=11416

Era is a standard calculation. Regardless if games go long (ie mlb) or short (ie ncaa or nfhs). Mlb era is calculated over 9 innings. Iscore lets you set the calculation to be over X innings of your choosing (ie 7) so you can get era9 and era7. It is a comperartive stat, just set to what is a standard regulation game for your league.

If you look at a score card you will see solid diamonds for earned runs and semi solid for unearned runs. Iscore does a reasonably good job assigning earned and earned runs. But sometimes you need to manually over ride stats as it takes judgment on re recreating an inning results.
