3 Teams with 1 big roster - High School

Post by mwhittington » Fri Oct 09, 2015 11:04 am

Our high school has 3 teams - Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Sophomore. Some of the players on the Sophomore team might play on the JV team and the Varsity team. Some of the JV players might also play in Varsity games.

What is the best way to set this up for tracking? It is 1 high school so what i've done is listed all players on 1 team (rather than everyone on 3 teams). Would the best way be to have it like this but list them as 3 different leagues? Or should i make 3 teams with everyone on them?

thanks for your help

I assume you want to be able to look at stats for individual players for whichever team they play on plus total stats for all teams they play on plus for each tournament/league they play in.

If those assumptions are right then I would set up 3 teams in TEAM manager and every player in PLAYER manager. I would set up a separate league in LEAGUE manager for each tournament and league in which games are played. I can then use LEAGUE manager to let me roll up the stats however I want.

When a game is played by a team, set the desired league in LEAGUE manager. This will set the league in GAME manager for that team. Select from PLAYER manager which players will be playing for that team during that game. This will make it possible to review stats by selecting or deselecting that team and league.

If you want to see a player's stats when playing for a particular team, from LEAGUE manager select leagues in which that team played, from TEAM manager select the desired team, display the team stats and select the player you want. You can also download that player's stats into Excel for further manipulation.

If you want to look at a player's stats for multiple teams, from LEAGUE manager select the desired leagues, go to PLAYER manager, select that player and you will have his/her stats for the selected leagues.

The real key to being able to manage and review stats is to be creative about how you use the LEAGUE manager.

once a team and lineup are in Iscore is it possible to duplicate them or does it have to be done manually?

There is not a duplicate option. You can select from exiting players for the new team roster, but you can not just duplicate an entire team.
