Ending Half Inning & Pitcher Stats

Post by BFarr156 » Wed Jun 17, 2015 12:42 pm

I searched the topics and couldn't find an answer.

Our league has a 5 Run Rule. When I manually end a half inning due to 5 runs being scored, the pitcher stats will not reflect the inning as a complete inning but only base it on outs in inning if any.

How do I get the pitcher's stats to reflect 1.00 innings pitched regardless of the amount of outs he got. For example the pitcher in question pitched Two innings but his stats for the game only reflected 1.00 innings because the 5 run inning didn't count towards his innings pitched but all other stats in that particular inning were correct. I also noticed that when I ended the inning it credited the half inning with 1 out (but didn't credit the pitcher with .33 inning) to end the inning, maybe it can automatically credit 3 outs and that may credit the pitcher with the proper inning pitched.

Tried editing it afterwards and I couldn't do it or find the way to do it.

Innings Pitched is clearly defined as outs made / 3. If a pitcher does not complete three outs, he or she is not credited with a full inning pitched. That is required so that ERA calculations will be correct.

You can look at the "innings appeared" at the pitcher position to see how many innings a pitcher appeared in, but that is different than the mathematical innings pitched calculation.

Wonder if you could give an option when manually when ending the half inning (due to 5-6 run Rules) to credit 3 outs or leave stats as is.

That would actually be going against the rules of stat keeping, so it is not likely something we will be adding. As noted, you can look at Innings Appeared at pitcher if you would like however.

I see now how it would mess up correct stats, my misunderstanding.

I was looking under the pitchers for the game and couldn't find the "innings appeared" stat as you suggested and looked in the pitcher settings to check mark the stat but couldn't find it, how do I see that stat or activate it if needed. I was looking for "IA" or "Innings Appeared".

Look in the Fielding Stats (since it is really a stat for Innings Appeared at different Fielding positions), and you will see a stat labled "AP1" which is Innings Appeared at Pitcher.
