Questioning stats for game

New here and I apologize if I am missing something obvious.
2nd season using the app to score games. For the very first game this season, I was forced to score on paper, and went back and put the game into iscore after.
When complete, the scorecard looked perfect, but looking over the fielding/pitches stats, I noted severe inconsistencies/problems.

For example one player had 7 POs recorded, when there was not even 7 POs in the game. Another case is where a pitcher went 2 innings, but was only given credit for 1.

I deleted the game, and tried again with the exact same results, so I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Again, the scorecard looks perfect..but the stats do not match. The only thing I can think of is the fact that at this level, we end an inning at 3 outs, or 4 runs scored...so there were several cases where I used the "end inning" option early since a team scored 4 runs...but I am not sure how that would throw off the stats.

Any ideas on what to look at would help..I am really not sure how the stats are so off.

Make sure that you have set up defensive positions in the starting lineups. I believe there needs to be a player assigned to the position in order to award POs, etc. And ending an inning early does do strange things to the pitcher stats since innings pitched is determined by number of outs made. Not sure about other pitcher stats.

Catchers get credit for a PO for each strikeout. I'm guessing that is where that number is coming from.

Innings Pitched (as Team Mom said) is calculated as 1/3 of an inning for each out recorded. So if an inning is ended with zero outs recorded, they would have no innings pitched for that inning.

Learn something new everyday. I did not realize catchers get PO credit for strikeouts. That is exactly where the discrepancy in my head was coming from. Thanks.

Same with the pitching..that makes complete sense. Now...for my own purposes, is there a way to work around that limitation with the app without messing up other stats?

You could override the stats by editing the number of outs recorded.

What is the "limitation with the app" that you are trying to work around? All of the stats are recorded according to the definitions of what the stats are supposed to be.

If you are saying you would like to see the number of innings appeared for a pitcher (as opposed to Innings Pitched which by definition is Outs / 3), there is a stats for that. If you turn on the "AP1" stat, that is the number of innings a pitcher has appeared at position 1 (pitcher).

I apologize for the mis-phrasing which made it sound like the app was doing something incorrect. I am torn between just looking at the AP1 stat that you pointed out, or going back and manually recording 3 outs at the end of those innings similar to what mprusak suggested.
