Pitcher of Record?

Post by mad hornet » Sat Mar 29, 2014 6:37 am

Our team is on the road. Pitcher A goes the first three innings. At the end of three, we are losing 2-1. In the top of 4 we take the lead and it's 3-2 us. Bottom of 4 we start with pitcher B who pitches the rest of the game. We win 4-2. What pitcher get the win?

It sounds like Pitcher A is the winning pitcher since your team took the lead before Pitcher B had officially entered the game. However, this would be up to your league rules as well. Every league can be very specific about how many innings a pitcher must have pitched to get a win, at what point the pitcher has officially left a game, etc.
