Accessing Stats

Post by 26Sniper » Tue Oct 08, 2013 7:58 am

Can and how do you set up outside access to prospective college coaches/scouts so you don't have to email each one a players yearly/career stats?

Thanks

If you don't want to send emails from iScore, you can create a team website. See the Team Website section of the Add On page here:

Check out the new iScore Baseball documentation page!

I have been keeping stats on my sons teams for 5 years. High school, travel ball and American Legion. Will I have to do team website for each past team? Was looking for a way that I could have college team/coach access for 1-2 players on these teams.

Thanks

Do you have all the past games/stats in iScore? If so, IScore offers a "Player Spotlight" subscription that can post any stats associated for the designated player across leagues/seasons /games. It is player specific, would need one for each player

You can purchase it from the admin web site

Here is an example player site with default settings ( no customization) just purchase site associate with player and option export after scoring a game

No, you do not have to have a team web site subscription to have a player web site subscription.

Lets trouble shoot..

a) What steps did you take? / where are you in the process (see my steps below) (have you Option > Exported Lately)?

b) do you have multiple devices (i.e. are you sure you purchased for the correct device with all your data )?

c) Do you have multiple versions of your player on your handheld?
(if so they need to be consolidated, ideally before you purchase the subscription) ?
to see if you have duplicate players, on your hand held device,
turn on all league in league manager, then look in player manager in your hand held.. any duplicates of your "player"?
if so post back, for more info. (have to figure out which is the "master player" to merge into

d) a common issue with team Web sites not showing the data you want is leagues, but i do not think (from memory) that comes into play with Player Spotlight sites,. the more common issue is unintentional Multiple Players

......
here are the steps to create a new Player Spotlight Web Site Subscription
step 0 - Option > Export (always a good idea to back up your device to the iScore servers after scoring a game and making changes )

step 1 - Log on to your Admin Web site (http://my.iscorecentral.com)
( your user name and password can be found at Options > Admin Web site on your hand held device)

Step 2 - click on Players tap (grey menu bar item)

step 3 - scroll to your player and click "new player web site" button on the right

Step 4+
a) you should get a white pop up dialog box, with the player you selected in the grey picker box, and just below that a lost of all the teams with which player is associated
b) you can test different URLS (default is their name)
c) you can purchase on line with credit card through pay pal.. follow instructions ...

step 5 - go to your new site at http://playerspotlights.com/PlayerNameYouChooose" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I can not simulate without purchasing .. but from memory after the purchase, you should get an email confirming the new web site link.. and it should be Active within minutes.. and all the stats should be on line

step 6 - customize player site
you can then customize the web look and feel by logging into settings ...
Log into settings using your admin password.

......

How far did you progress, what part of the process is giving you trouble. ?

do you only have one scoring device (and hence 1 admin site)?

do you have multiple versions of your player on your hand held?

Did you purchase and then get the confirmation email and then go to the player site have no/partial data, if so describe, and compare against what player card on hand held shows

perhaps too late for you , but for those reading along in the future.

tip = consolidate any unintended duplication of players and option> export before trying to purchase the player profile.

My view, you do not need to wait. Does not matter.
(just make sure you write down and save the old device ID and password in case you need it down the road)

iscore has taken strides to enable the end user to self manage multiple devices as much as possible with out having to email support. but does take some "remembering/understanding " on your part..

here are some tips for users of multiple devices and platforms. .

1) apple/android - let you down load the app using the original purchase account to new devices for free .

2) iScore Baseball on iOS and Android platforms, are pretty much functionally the same, a few differences exist in user interface as iscore tries to use device paradigms (eg. swip for apple, context menu for android) and updates / new features are not always added at 'exactly' the same time but the developers try to keep them even as practically allowed ..In fact the programs are so similar the user manual covers both side by side in one document.

3) iScore can transfer single game and even entire databases from one device to another or one platform to another, - they are that compatible.

4) NOTE: each hardware/software combination gets a unique device/customer id for iScore purposes (it can be found on your device at Options > Admin website (the admin site URL, the device Id, the password, and password reset are all placed here to help you keep it all straight). this ID is very important to access admin web site.

5) you will want to administratively link all your devices. using Option > Register to a single email. this enables the admin site to allow you to transfer subscriptions across devices

now back to the prior issue / question..
26Sniper wrote:When I got on site, put in clicked on his name it said trouble locating teams for player.
Having two devices takes a little more 'clarification'

for users of multiple devices, I recommend, making one device your "master".. regardless of which device you score on, I recommend to consolidate all the scored games, teams, players etc to one device ( and call it your master).

If you have not already, I would 'consolidate' all of your information to a single device using Option > Data Sharing.
(if you need info on how, see the training link in my signature or post back, but it is pretty self explanatory starting with step 0 which is always Option > Export each device first, then Option > Data Share )

second, on the master, Turn on All leagues and try to Merge any inadvertently duplicated teams or Players you may have accidentally created over time. (Depending on size of database and number of leagues this can be a few minutes or take some time. )

(FYI I do not recommend deleting any players, teams unless absolutely 300% sure never ever ever need them again - if you save a game but deleate the underlying players or teams.. confusion can occur in the underlying data base)

After you have done any needed merge clean upon your master device , Option > Export you master to update the iScore servers

Next log in and you can purchase or transfer your team web sites and player subscriptions
(see steps 1-6 from prior post yesterday)
...

Caveat -as this has gotten long. FTM Support - or Peer Green Team friends. - please correct me if i am wrong or mis spoke.
