Batting stats by lineup order?

Post by Ktbken » Wed Jul 24, 2013 7:31 pm

Is there a way to show player batting stats by batting order? E.g. Player "Kyle" hits .300 when leading off, .400 when batting second, .345 when batting third, etc. I also would like to see a trending chart of certain stats by player and team like batting avg., OBP, etc.

Love the new fast filtering option. Thanks!

No, we do not have batting stats based on the position they batted in the lineup.

We do not have trend charts, but you can use the filtering and export ranges of games in Excel or CSV format, and put that data in a spreadsheet and create trending graphs from it.

Yeah I know but of course that's work! ;0) Just a recommendation - it would be such a great addition to your app.

It would be nice if you could export the team data in CSV format for each game. That way I could easily create an Excel trending chart. Right now if I want to do that I have to export each game separately and combine them based on game date/time to get a trending chart.

You can export each game in CSV format. There is no way to export multiple games at one time as we would start running into crazy ISP spam issues with an unlimited number of attachments, but other than the first time where you have a history of games to export, you could keep up a spreadsheet by exporting each game as it is played.

Yeah I am a Software Solutions Architect so I hear you. However I would think you could possibly have an option to send one Excel file that would just have the data for each game (Start Date/Time?) for each player on separate rows. So it would come out as multiple rows for each player and game...

Game DateTime Player Avg OBP Etc...
7/25/2013 13:00 Kyle .423 .640
7/25/2013 13:00 Jimmy .378 .440
... Rest of players for 7/25 game...
7/26/2013 14:00 Kyle .423 .640
7/26/2013 14:00 Jimmy .378 .440
... Rest of players for 7/26 game...
etc...

Basically that's how we would set up an Excel data source. I known people would love that. You may even be able to sell that as an enhancement - I know I would pay for it.

Is this export enhancement in progress? Will it also export the batter order so I could generate batting average by player and lineup order?

It is on our enhancement list at this point, but is not a high priority right now. As you can see it has not gotten a lot of traction as some requests do.
