Thank you for the feedback. We are going to wait to implement Discoverability in this case until things can actually be discovered through the iScore user interface. We do not want to make the Discover process require leaving iScore to find the information and then go back into iScore. If they are willing to provide a way for iScore users to search for teams, we are happy to implement it, but without the search ability, it is a very incomplete solution.

I guess I don't understand the reasoning behind this. Perhaps I use the Discover process differently than everyone else, but I use it to pre-populate rosters for teams playing in the same tournaments as my son's team. To do this I first have to go to the tournament page at the hosting organization's website (usually USSSA or Nations) to find out what teams are playing in the tournament. I then Discover the team and import the roster information. In fact I almost always use the team ID# for the discover process rather than having to go through multiple steps of choosing the state, then classification and type the team name. I find it's faster to type a 5-6 numeral number than the full search method. I will always do this while sitting in front of the computer with the computer web page showing the team list (and then I just have to float the mouse over the team name and look at the link address to find the team ID#). I enter the ID# into iScore and viola - I have a populated roster. So it's really not an issue of leaving iScore - I use both the computer and tablet at the same time so I never close iScore.

I'd be surprised if I'm the only person who does this - it really is a very simple process. Otherwise what I have to do is go to the team's roster on the webpage. Copy the roster from the webpage, open excel and paste the roster information. Convert the roster to columns and delete the columns with useless information. Then I have to open the my.iscorecentral.com website and create a new team. Then populate the team name and manager by hand. Then go to the roster tab and copy the roster data from excel to the iScore team with the add multiple tool. This is a much, much more time consuming and laborious task than using Discover.

I'd like you to reconsider not using Discover by team ID# in perfect game. As I mentioned, my son will be in a tournament with 76 teams. This will take me well over 2 hours to enter with the excel method. With Discover I would expect it would take less than 1 hour.

FTM,

I've sent a request to Perfect Game to open up a dialog with you regarding iScore support for Perfect Game discoverability. Hopefully they will respond.

In the mean time, can you please respond to my post above (viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7584#p34936" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) regarding just supporting discover by team ID # in lieu of full support of team name search? Having some support is better than none.

Thank you,
-phil

It is not likely that we are going to implement anything that scrapes their HTML pages based on entering a team ID #. If/when Perfect Game contacts us, we will be happy to create a discover solution.
