How do I score a mercy rule end of inning, with more runners on base scoring on the play than allowable under mercy rules?
Our league's 10U mercy limit is 6 runs per inning.
The final play of this particular inning was set up with five runs already walked in, and now with the bases loaded, batter hits a triple, clearing the bases, batter held up at third.
Mercy rules say only six runs can be scored.
Suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Mercy Scoring / End of Inning
A side thought...
Is there a way to set a game option pre-game for mercy scoring rules, that automatically ends innings where the proper conditions have been met?
In our case, 6 maximum runs per inning, gave over at 12 run lead after 4 innings, or game over at 10 run lead after 5 innings. (Six inning games)
Thanks in advance.

Re: Mercy Scoring / End of Inning
To score, batter hits triple (so he gets that stat credit), then what happens to runners? For any run over the limit, select safe at home, run not scored. After play, hit misc - end inning.
I don't think there is a way to pre-load run limits. The correct way is just to end the inning with misc-end inning when the run limit is reached (and maybe add a note if you care to.)

Re: Mercy Scoring / End of Inning
We do not use preloaded limits because local rules vary widely in this regard. Having Misc -> End Inning allows you to end the inning any time you like, and Misc -> End Game allows you to end the game any time you like. Local rules can have different restrictions depending on the inning you are in (not uncommon to have run limits in early innings, and have them lifted later), depending on the current score, depending on the time remaining in time restricted games, depending on run differential, or any number of other factors that would make trying to automate run limits very difficult. Instead we have the Misc options to allow you to score within your rules.
Even individuals use of run limits seems to vary. As an example, let's say you have a 5 run limit. Your team has scored 4 already, and bases are loaded. The batter hits a deep ball to the outfield that is not caught. It seems to us that a run limit would be the equivalent of walk off rules in MLB which would mean the runner on third scores, and the batter gets credited with a single. That's it. But we get people all the time wanting to give the batter their triple or home run, all the base runners credit for scoring their runs, a batter getting 3 or 4 RBIs in this scenario even though only one run is allowed. It just introduces a whole plethora of issues that there is not a right or wrong answer to.
So the way we have implemented it, you decide which runs are counted (use Run Not Scored for those that don't), and you use the End Inning / End Game when the criteria for those situations has been met.
