Remove player from line-up after game has ended

Post by apex_pirate » Tue Apr 09, 2013 11:21 am

Ok, i realized after the game had started that I had entered the Varsity roster in for the opposing team and not the JV. No Problem. I just edited the names on the roster (before I ended the game) and made the correct edits for pitching substitutions. My only issue left (that I know of) is they only had 11 players versus the 12 i used to score the game with. Is there a way to remove the 12th player (as if he were skipped) and have all the stats shift in sequence?

I think I'm hosed but thought I'd ask.

two potential issues.

1) after you have gone through the lineup rotation once you cannot remove a player. Therefore there is no way to remove the batter from the starting lineup and have the stats shift. Your best bet will be to re-score the game. Not too hard a process if you use your existing score card and play-by-play. You could insert a substitution before each at-bat to show the correct batter, but this makes for a very messy scorecard and you would have to do it for every at-bat.

2) you said you "edited" the wrong names after you loaded the incorrect teams. Hopefully you added new players rather than change the name of the existing varsity player. If you changed the name of the varsity player, you are, in fact, only changing that player's name but all the data associated with the varsity player is still associated with the player file. If this is what you did re-scoring the game may be your best option again.

You can not change the number of batters.

Also, changing player names in the lineup is ok, but understand that it wont automatically update the roster. Use copy lineup->roster to do that. In case you need to use this team again.
(I'm assuming you werent changing to players that already existed on your device, right? Sounds like these were new players.)

How did you handle the extra batter as you scored the game?

Best bet may be to print out the pitch-by-pitch and rescore the game.

Thanks for the responses. We haven't played the team (or the individual players) before and will only play them one more time. When I entered the league's rosters I accidentally entered the Varsity roster for the JV squad. In the end it doesn't sound like I have much other options and will have tp rescore the game.

As for how the extra batter was handled during the original scoring...well, i forgot to look to see how many batters they had when I recognized it was the wrong roster. I said they had 12 but they actually had 13. On the main scoring screen, the display only shows 12 batters...unless you scroll to see the additional. I should have been paying more attention when I got to that point in the order to notice we weren't back to the top.

Sometimes when you have a bad day, it permiates into everything you do. Luckily, I can recover from this by rescoring the game.

Thanks again guys.
