Glare?

Post by jmullican6 » Wed Mar 20, 2013 8:51 am

I know this isn't specifically an iscore question, but figured someone here might have an idea. How do you deal with glare while scoring a game? Would it be worth the $$ to buy a anti-glare screen protector? I usually can hold my device so things are just barely visible, but yesterday's game was just almost impossible. I missed a few plays trying to get just the right angle to see.

Thanks for any help!

I have been scoring on iPad for 3 seasons. Its really never been an issue for me. I try to find a spot out of direct sunlight when possible. One thing that I think some people dont think of is to make sure that your brightness is cranked all the way up. If your screen is at 50% brightness and then you set it at 100%, its a pretty amazing difference.

If you are still having problems, an anti-glare screen may help.

Another reason I need an iPad!! Mine is a shiny Android device. I think the brightness is set up all the way, but I will definitely check.

Thanks!!

I also use the light skin on my iPad. Helps during bright days.

+1 on Mark's suggestion to stay out of direct sun. That also helps keep the electronics and scorekeeper cool.

Yeah - I tried scoring a couple of games with the dark skin before I discovered the light skin. So much better! But the field we played on yesterday had absolutely no shade anywhere. I did the best I could to shield my tablet with a notebook and my body but it was still almost impossible to score the game.

Thanks!

I bring my own shade. I have one of the folding chairs with a shade cover. It also helps during light rain. I've also seen people using the sportbrellas. I might upgrade to one of those.

Also wearing a dark shirt helps. The reflection will then be dark rather than a white shirt.
