Roster updates

Post by jeffrsunh » Tue Feb 19, 2013 1:19 pm

I am new to iScore so hopefully this is an easy answer for you experienced folks. I entered my first game and created teams in team manager, using the quick Player 1-10 roster...then at start of game when i had lineup i entered the #'s and names. My question is this, when i went back to the team manager and looked at roster....nothing was updated. I would have thought that the names and #'s would have filled in. I had to re-enter the names and #'s in roster under team manager. Did i miss a simple step?

You may have missed a step. After making the changes during the game, you should tap misc-show starting lineup-copy lineup to roster. Any changes you made to game lineup (i.e. names and numbers) will be copied to the team roster.

These changes will show up in any new games created post copy. If you have already created games, they will not update with the roster changes.

Important to understand the difference between Roster and Lineup.

Lineups are a snapshot of your team roster taken at the moment you create a new game.

From that moment on, the two are independent of each other. Any changes to one do not affect the other.

As Team Mom indicated, you can copy any Lineup back to Team Roster to update the Roster. I do this often as the season progresses. Usually not because we have had player changes, but generally because the lineups (batting order) will slowly evolve over the course of a season. Keeping a recent copy in Team Roster means when I create a game, I am more likely to have a relatively close match to the next game's lineup. (This may not apply if you have a coach that changes things drastically from game to game.)
