Can't Play a Game

Post by joeybcdt » Mon Feb 18, 2013 7:32 pm

Hello folks. My first post here. I'd appreciate any clue as to what I'm doing wrong.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus running Android v4.2.1.
iScore v3.56.203

I have all teams loaded.
Select Game Manager.
Select Game
In Game Info Select Play
Roster for Home team comes up.
I edit the roster for positions and batting order. Then do the same for Visiting team.
Select Done
.........Nothing happens. Stays on Home/Visitor Rosters. Will not advance to Play. I have to kill the App to exit.

Thanks,
Joey

This means on at least one of the teams you do not have a player set to Batting = YES. You have to have at least one player on each team set to Batting = YES for the play button to enable.

Good guess but nope.

I checked and rechecked stuff like that.

Then, on my Samsung Galaxy Tab running Android v4.0.4 I went to Options, Data Sharing and downloaded all my teams. I was able to create and start a game on my tablet.

I think iscore may not be compatible with android v4.2.1

@ joey,

any chance you have odd characters in team or player names (not basic alpha characters, there have been odd things in past with ' and - type characters)

I am going to guess support will need to trouble shoot this by email and look at your database and test on another android device. TO get a jump on that, Option Export your data, and send to support@iscoresports.com with your device id and describe the situation (cut and paste from here txt or the url to this forum page).

iscore is suppose to work on compliant android versions.

I did the export yesterday. Here's the response I received:

"Dear Joey,

We have tested your data on a Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4.2 simulator, and pressing the Done button worked correctly, taking us into the scoring screen. We have not had other reports of issues with pressing the Done button so we are at a loss to explain why it is not working on your device unless maybe there is a "dead" spot on your device over that area of the screen which make pressing the button difficult."

I guess I'm stuck. At least they responded very quickly.

@ Joey.

I would try re installing the app. Option export , to store the database on iscore servers. Then un install and reinstall the app.

Tried that. Same results. Thanks though.
