New Team old Stats

Post by okava » Mon Jan 07, 2013 2:01 pm

I have a new team and I want to be able to see all the stats I have for each player over the last three seasons. I can see them on the player card but not on the website. I checked all leagues and added the team to all leagues.

"Team Sites" focus on specific TEAMS ....

"Player Spotlights" focus by specific player

For Team sites, what shows up on the team web site are games that were played by the TEAM, and player stats in those games when they playedwith that team.. it can be filtered by Leagues, but it can't pick up games not associated with the web site team...

....

more Advanced reading..
Many of us create a new team each year, HS Team 2010, HS team 2011, HS team 2012, HS team 2013 .. .. As such a web site only can show stats for that year.. (I have a player spot light for my own kids, that aggregates, Spring summer fall, year to year in all the teams they are on)

Others set up Teams to be multi year.. using the Active Roster feature.. e.g HS team 2010-2013, and scores for that team all games 2010--2013, . the roster is managed by deactivating and activating players then a team site can show history. (I mention this though i have not done it.. I use the first method team by year,... because when i started scoring we did not have active/deactivate player feature). If you wanted one could theoretically merge old teams HS team 2010, HS team 2011, into TEAM w website, and perhaps create a Team that has games across years. (I have not done that, if some one has and can validate.. let us know)

I recently renewed team web site. How do I not show all the previous season games and stats. I know that you can select the current season from the drop down but I would not like to show the previous season or at least have the current season be the default instead of All.

Under team website settings, there is an option to select the default League. You can also choose to show or hide inactive players.

I have converted to the second method for the first time this year, thanks to the active/inactive functionality. Our team pretty much stays intact from year to year (maybe lose 1 or 2; add 1 or 2). I use leagues liberally and change the default league on team website to be my current season "All Games" league.

Using this method allows for historical stats to be available on the website. I can choose to display or hide inactive players in these stats. I can also un-assign all the leagues from this team except the full season leagues from previous seasons. This declutters the drop-down selections and makes only full season historical stats available for previous seasons.

Mark is correct that is the new recommended method.. Using active/inactive players

(One can also renew a web site and change the team associated with it through the free admin site under account tab).
