Converting A Team and related issues

Post by Paulsilas » Sun Aug 12, 2012 6:41 am

We used a team website for the past season. We have moved our team to another organization and would like to convert our site, but keep career and season stats etc. I know how to use leagues to sort data but have the following questions:

1. Can we keep the same site and its stats etc but change its address to our new team's name?

2. Can we change our team name in iscore and keep everything else intact?

3. Any other hints people have had that have done this?

1. You can not change the URL of the website, but when it comes time to renew, instead of renewing the existing site, you can create a new site.

2. Yes, you can change the name of the team, and iScore will keep the existing data intact.

Thanks - follow up question

1. Can I change the team name on my iphone, then immediately create a new team site ( not wait for renewal) and not lose any data? How do I do that, before renewal time?

Yes, you will simply be purchasing a new site now and not renewing the old one later. You can buy a team site for any team, any time from within the app.

I changed the name of my team

I then went to create a new team website, but my only option seems to be to renew the team site associated with the old name.

How do I create a new site?

Oh! I see what you were asking now...I wasnt following that you want another website for this same team.

I know its possible to have more than 1 website for a single team, but not sure how. It may require help from FTM. Send them an email: support@iscoresports.com. They will get you set up.

edit - looks like you can do this from the admin website, even for teams you have a website for currently.
admin -> teams -> new team website

Related Issue

We use two devices. We score with an ipad, export the data, than use data sharing to get it on an iphone. Our team and its players were mapped between the two devices and everything worked great. Since then, for the coming fall season, i changed the name of the team on the iphone.

Can I now change the name of the team on the ipad to match the iphone, score a game on the ipad, and still be able to data share the game onto the iphone and still have the team and players properly mapped?

The mappings are done with internal IDs for each team. So changing a team name will not effect the mappings you already have in place.
