Synchronization

Post by 70clcl » Wed Aug 08, 2012 6:50 pm

What are all of the items that the "Data Synchronization" feature is supposed to sync if you have a team website?
I noticed ever since that feature was introduced I am getting empty iScoreCast links on my games tab. If one of my users clicks on the link they are presented with an empty score-cast template that does nothing when they click "Replay" in the top right. The game does not get populated until I manually sync the i-ScoreCast for the game they are trying to replay.

My original assumption was that the new auto sync feature would eliminate the need for me to manually do a "i-ScoreCast Synchronize" for each game once I get to a destination that has a wifi connection.

The synchronization does two things right now:

1. sends the Scorecard to the server (so you don't have to email it)

2. creates a backup of the game on our server in case you did not do an export and your device gets lost or stolen (we have recovered 100's of games this way for people)

In the future we may make it do the iScorecasts as well, but for now, it does not do anything related to iScorecasts. Longer term we would like to eliminate the need for Export altogether with the Synchronize functionality, but for now, it only serves the two purposes listed above.
