Just got an email from Narrative Science...
"My name is Bart Borrelli from the Business Development Group at Narrative Science. I wanted to thank you for reaching out to us in regards to iScore. This is definitely an opportunity we are going to look into as it appears to be a great fit for the services we can provide. Please let me know if you have any additional questions regarding Narrative Science or our services. Thanks and have a great day."
Let's get this done!

I'd be in without even batting an eye at $20 per year for one team. I'd consider (very seriously) even a price above that and would be willing to help on a beta. I run http://hilltoptourney.info" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and my son's team is currently playing for the Cal Ripken 8U Mid-Atlantic Championship.

We have games scheduled for tomorrow (August 3rd), one on Saturday and one on Sunday in pool play. Then I hope to play on Monday and Tuesday in the finals...

I'd go as high as $10/season. After a trial period to see how it goes.

It will never happen...I'm in the research business and have negotiated extensively with Narrative Science. It ain't cheap.

Another company is the one exploiting this right now but I think they are hitting their nadir...the backlash from the coaching profession is building at the High School level. As well, they provides ZERO benefit to higher amateur programs (i.e. collegiate). I'm seeing coaches banning the use of the other app due to its "open" access. I guarantee you that you won't go against the coach on this one.

I'm just gonna say it...it's a vanity service that appeals heavily to age level baseball. What on earth does an 8U team need this for other than vanity? If I were running a tournament program with real media demand then the economic value is there. At the team level however...no value IMHO.

I'd rather pay iScore $10-$20 per year extra knowing they were going to reinvest in the app rather than watching them being a pass through for those dollars to some other 3rd party vendor.

Side note editorial comment: If your player is under 14 years old, avoid the siren song of box scores and stat lines and their vanity appeal...enjoy the game and your players experience with it...the data should be avoided as a measure of glory. It's just data that's too often used by parents to create strife.

We had some talks with narrative science and it does not look like we will be able to provide it at this time. They want minimum commitments that are much higher than we could possibly agree to.

We suggested they provide us a way to supply stories on a "pay per use" model, and they are not at a point they can offer this. If they ever get to this point, we told them we would be happy to integrate it into iScore.
