just scored first game in new league & results are all wrong

Post by tochambers » Fri Jun 22, 2012 7:35 am

I created a new league, added the players and scored the first game but all the play by play is wrong even though the batters were correct during the game (and hence all stats are wrong) . It shows kids HBP when they weren't, and others who were it doesn't show. I seems all jumbled and I can't figure out why, how could this have gotten so messed up? This is my third league on the app and I don't remember having issues prior. I have a game tonight and I don't want to use this if I can't fine a fix...

If you can do an Options -> Export and email your Customer ID (found on Options screen in iScore) to support@iscoresports.com and let us know which game and some specific issues you see, we will take a look at your data to see what is going on.

One additional thing I noticed... there was a batter "chris" that came out mid game due to being HBP and he does not show up in the order at all. I think I opened his player and changed batting to no to remove him from the order.... I thought this worked correctly in the past.

I went back and re added Chris to the order and it has corrected the early batting order, but once chris came out of the game (his next at bat) the results get hosed again. How can I edit the order to pull him out at the right time and correct the results? He did'nt bat again after he was HBP so I know when it happened... I can export the latest version of the file if that will help, just let me know...

By changing his status to no, you removed him from the entire game. That is why all your stats are off. You should have used skipped batter instead if he was not replaced by a substitute.

Pretty sure you can fix this in pitch by pitch editor by adding the batter back into the starting lineup, but not sure if you can add a skipped batter in the edits. FTM will have to weigh in.

I added the player back in and then I edited the pitch by pitch (would be great if you could print this out...) and then substituted the injured batter with ever other batter through the end of the game. This gives me correct stats, but a messy sorecard. It would be nice if there were a better way to take a batter out of the game if injured rather than skipping him each inning. This is just error prone and not easy to fix...

You can not add a skip batter in edits. All scoring is kept against the lineup position. So if you had 10 players batting prior to the HBP, you were scoring information for lineup positions 1 -> 10. After the HBP, you removed the player (set Batting = NO), so were only scoring for lineup positions 1-> 9, and everyone after the player in the lineup was "squeezed up one spot". You can not insert that spot back into the lineup.
