few improvement suggestions for tweetcast and i-scorecast

Post by hy0 » Sun Jun 17, 2012 8:39 am

1.1) Adding an option for auto-tweeting after each at-bat.

1.2) (Auto-)Tweetcast should give information about what happened at the last at-bat (maybe even with hit direction), because this is what's actually interesting for people who cant be at the game. It must be possible even within the letter limit by shortening words like "strike" "out" etc.

2) i-Scorecast mobile website: the current i-scorecast is very nice for desktops but really difficult to watch on smartphones due to the page size.
It would be nice if there was a website for smart phones or other cellphones, because many people who want to follow a game somewhere else aren't and can't be sitting in front of an desktop all the time.

1. Because of tweet limits enforced by Twitter, we can not tweet after each at bat.

2. If you want to give sample 140 character or less messages, we can add them to our enhancement list.

3. Use this URL for small devices: http://iScorecast.com/html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Oh, thanks for the Link, didn't know about the HTML Version.
I made some Sample Tweets. According to the data scored, these Tweets must be possible to program.

ALB 3 PAD 2 [B3] [2O-1B-1S] no one on [P: #51 Anderson] [B: #33 Rosendin] Last: #32 Schwarzer: Out, ground ball to SS

ALB 3 PAD 2 [T3] [2O-1B-1S] man on second, third [P: #51 Anderson] [B: #33 Rosendin] Last: #32 Schwarzer: Double, 2 Runs

ALB 3 PAD 2 [T3] [2O-1B-1S] man on third [P: #51 Anderson] [B: #33 Rosendin] Last: #32 Schwarzer: Safe by Error, 1 Run

ALB 3 PAD 2 [B3] [2O-1B-1S] man on second [P: #51 Anderson] [B: #33 Rosendin] Last: #32 Schwarzer: Safe by Fielder’s Choice

ALB 3 PAD 2 [T3] [2O-1B-1S] bases loaded [P: #51 Anderson] [B: #33 Rosendin] Last: #32 Schwarzer: Walk, 1 Run

If there is no short team name, the first 3 letters of the team name can be used.

Just wanted to piggy back on this thread as my followers love the Twitter updates, just have one suggestion;

Can you have the app generate a Tweet after a score happens, something like "HR-Jeter-NYY- 1 RBI- Current Score ATL 3 - NYY 1 Bot. 1"

I love this app so much, been using it the past 3 years and the Tweetcast inclusion is great. Many Thanks!

I agree with Tweets after a score happens. As it is now, at the end of inning it Tweets the score and ball, strike and out counts. But the info for ball, strike and outs is useless since it is always zeros at the end of the inning. That info is not needed which would allow for more useful info such as a scoring summary.

Just one more suggestion, can you have the app tweet when a pitching change occurs? Something like "Top 8th - Pitching Change - D.Robertson - NYY. Vs Ortiz.

Would like to see the option to turn off/on the every half inning tweet.
