Defensive Obstruction (iPad)

Post by clmazin » Mon May 28, 2012 8:49 am

Maybe I'm missing the button somewhere, but if a batter reaches first safely on DO (first baseman blocking the base), I don't see how to record that properly...

Help?

If the batter would have been safe if the obstruction would not have occurred, you should mark it as a single. If the batter is only safe because of the obstruction, then you can enter it as an Error on the first baseman (on an obstruction play, the fielder causing the obstruction is given an error). We do not have a way for the batter to be safe by obstruction right now (other than catcher obstruction). We do have an option for runners to be safe by defensive obstruction (and the fielder is assigned an error automatically).

Thanks. I logged it as an error during the game...
