Pitcher replaced after hit by ball - what about is stats?

Post by triple » Sat May 26, 2012 3:58 am

At the fourth inning, the pitcher was hit by a hard line drive and had to leave the game without going to bat for the rest of the game.

What I did :
I click on the pitcher icone and replaced him
I then click MISC > ...LINEUP > PLAYER'S NAME > and at BATTING, I selected NO

The problem is that I didn't get his stats as a pitcher and as a batter for the first 4 inning
It looks like he didn't play

When you edited the starting lineup to remove the pitcher you effectively said he did not play in the game. The starting lineup should not be changed in the middle of the game. You should use an offensive and defensive substitution to replace him, not change the starting lineup. I you play in an "all player bat" league, then you would use Misc -> Skip Batter each time he comes up after leaving the game.

Is there a way to recuperate his performance during those 4 innings?

he was replaced as a pitcher and if I use the "skip the batter" option as suggested, I get one out, which is not the case

and if I have to "skip the batter" each time, I will have to be very attentive when his name will come up as the batter.
Is there a safer way to record this situation?

When you use Skip Batter, iScore asks if you want to count it as an out or not --- you have the choice. Using Skip Batter is the only way to keep the batting stats correct when a player leaves a game and a substitute is not put into the batting spot for him.

You can make corrections to lineups post game using the options available here:

Sorry for the delay to answer...

If I understand, a substitute player who takes the batting spot, I should get the stats for the players who left the game and also for the sub player without having any mixt up in the stats and in the batting order?

If you are using a sub, then yes, the original player's stats will remain with that player. If you are changing the starting lineup, then you are saying the new player actually started the game.

Please watch training video 3 at http://iscoresports.com/baseball/training.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for the proper way to do substitutions.
