Scoreboard Control

Post by PPPadre » Fri May 25, 2012 6:58 am

Sometimes as a volunteer, I get to wear a couple of different hats during a ballgame. Often I get both scorekeeping and scoreboard control. Since all of the information that is needed for the scoreboard is in the "header" of the play screen (total runs per team, inning, outs, balls, and strikes), I was wondering if there was any way to code the software to broadcast that data (through the USB connector, bluetooth, or wi-fi) so that scoreboard manufacturers could develop an adapter that would allow iScore to control their scoreboard?

I realize that the scoreboard controller itself is way beyond your realm of development, but I live just 40 minutes away from Nevco's headquarters and I would not be above pestering the living daylights out of them to develop such an adapter. :D

We would love to do that and have researched it a bit. There is not a standard that can be used to do this. If any of the scoreboard manufacturers created a standard way of doing it that was compatible with iOS / Android devices (WiFi would most likely be needed), we would be happy to add that capability.

I've wished there was like a two foot LED board that could be wifi linked with box score to take to games, battery operated and hang on the fence. Someone invent that! Speaking for all storekeepers of the world I'd love to stop getting asked what the score is....

I know what you mean. It doesn't bother me too much, but when you get asked five different times in a row, it gets pretty comical. At least 3-4 of the parents at our games have started using the Scorecasts to keep up with the score. That has saved a few questions.
