I do not yet quite understand the proper sequence for making a pitching change.
Cards, Braves game. Top of 5th. 1 out. Salas relieves Wainwright. Salas retires the side. Pitchers spot hits 3rd in bottom of 5th.
Salas stays in to bat. I made the def. change (Salas for Wainwright) already. So when Wainwright appears as batter I replaced him with Salas, changed Wainwright to "no bat" and added batting to Salas.
My problem is that now Salas appears to have started the game and Wainwright's name does not appear at all.
How should I do this properly?

You changed the starting lineup instead of making a substitution. Watch training video 3 at this URL to see the proper way to make a substitution:
