Sound

Post by brian_oshea » Sun May 06, 2012 2:37 pm

I just scored a game but I did not have any sound on ball/strikes. I made sure that "play sounds" was set to "on". I checked that the sound on the iPad was set to max. loudness. I even exited the game, then exited iScore, even exiting the app. by clicking on the iScore icon in the bottom of the home screen. I then launched music, and it played fine. I then went back in to iScore and the game. Still no sound. This also happened to me when scoring spring training games in Florida. Any suggestions as to what the problem might be?

Someone else reported this and then found they had their hardware mute switch set to on.

The mute button was not on. That was the first thing that I checked and as I said I exited iScore and could play music without touching any of the sound buttons.

I also iScorecasted the game and when I go the the iScore cast site and chose that game there is also no sound. Should there not be sound for the iScorecast? I guess that I can live without the sound but it is nice to know that a ball/strike has been recorded without looking at the screen.

I dont believe there is any connection between having sounds on/off on the app and having them play in the iscorecast. However, the iscorecast sounds are off by default, I believe and must be turned on by clicking on the speaker icon (from the pullout settings box).

Hi,
If I may jump in here... I also am not hearing the ball & strike "sounds". I have verified all settings are set correctly.

It is the hardware mute switch. The music player ignores the hardware mute switch on the device and allows you to play music anyway. When you have the hardware mute switch off, the iScore sounds will not play however. Set your hardware mute switch back to the on position and you should hear the sounds again.
