Bugs regarding batting flag

Post by joehyuk » Sun Aug 30, 2009 9:34 pm

There appears to be a bug with how iScore assigns at-bat results to a player during a game. For purposes of calculating the stats in a game, iScore appears to treat all players as batting, even if they were not a starting batter (let alone in the game at all), when calculating stats. So, for example, if I had a player in the third position in the roster order, even if I don't mark him as a batter (so that the player in the fourth position is actually the third batter), iScore will assign all the at-bats for the third batter (who is in the fourth position) to the non-batting player in the third position. This throws off the calculated stats for a game. This also throws off the previous at-bats displayed when a batter is up (e.g., when the third batter is up, the previous at-bats shown are for the fourth batter, because the third batter is in the fourth position).

This bug is easily reproduceable (for me, at least). For any game in progress, edit the starting lineup to move a player who has not batted into one of the top nine spots, and then view statistics for that team.

I don't believe this is the bug that was fixed in the new 2.0.1 that was released, because I updated but still see the problem in a game I already scored.

Yes, this bug has been confirmed, and we have fixed it for our next release (2.02). It is not as critical as the bug fixed for 2.01 because it has a very easy workaround.

The issue is interleaving Batting=No between Batting=Yes players. The easiest way to avoid this issue is to make sure all players with Batting=No are moved down below players with Batting=Yes (our guess is most people already create their lineups this way anyway).

If anyone does run into this issue, here are the steps to correct the Lineup after a game has ended (been posted in several places):

Select a game from Game Manager
Touch Pitch By Pitch in the Game Info screen
In the Pitch by Pitch screen touch the first item which says Game Starts
Touch the Edit button
Move the players into the correct batting order by touching and dragging the icon with the three horizontal bars
Once the players are in the correct batting order touch Done
Touch Save in the upper right corner
Touch Back in the upper left corner

After moving players with Batting=No below the other players, stats will be fine.
