Data Sharing single game only?

If another person scores the game can I data share just that game onto my ipad with getting all of his other games? I am afraid if I sync with him it will over write all of my previous games with his.

Yes, when you use data sharing, it provides a list of teams and games that are not currently on your device that exist on the second device, and you have the option of picking just the games / teams you would like to retrieve to your device. Here is a link to how data sharing works:
