Data Sharing

Post by jlpaige5 » Wed Apr 25, 2012 5:38 pm

I have read a few different posts and I am still confused with data sharing. This is the first year I am using iScore, and really like all the features it has. My iPad is the main one for scoring our teams games, however there are and will be a few games that I can't attend and someone else will be scoring them with iScore they purchased on their iPad. How can I get the games that they score to be added to my iPad and our team website/stats. The way I am understanding it, the 2nd iPad needs to import all of my data, and after he scores the game we would then use the data sharing feature, or would he use the Export feature and enter in the user id and password for the main iPad (website). Thanks for the help.

Not quite.

You need to know the user ID and password of the device you want to pull from.

They need to do an options-export.
Then you do options -data share -get from web database.

Enter cust ID and password.

You will see available data to map to your device.

If you haven't already, check out this link:

You should share your Team to the second device that will be doing the scoring (data sharing allows sharing of games or teams), then after the second device does the scoring, you can do Data Sharing again to get the games back (reverse direction).

Ok...we scored the game on another device. He exported it, I went to data sharing to retrieve the info, but no games show up. Am I missing something?

If no games are showing up, then it sounds like it already exists on your device... like maybe you had it originally, the other person data shared to get it from you, and now you are trying to get it back. iScore will not show games that already exist on your device. If you delete the game from your device, you can then use data sharing to retrieve it from the other device.
