Runner for pitcher

Post by AE32170C18 » Wed Apr 25, 2012 7:11 pm

Why doesn't it put the original player back in after using a courtesy runner? The past two games I've put a courtesy runner in for pitcher and it puts them in like a sub. I have to go back to the pitch by pitch and change it. All I do is touch runner press courtesy runner and put in player that is running for her. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Tapping the runners, tapping courtesy runner, and selecting the player is the right way to do it. There is an issue if you bat through the lineup in that same inning where iScore will show the courtesy runner at the plate in the Pitch by Pitch listing, but the stats will correctly show the real batter. The next inning the player should correctly revert however.

It doesn't. If they don't bat threw the line up it puts them in as the pitcher. It was doing everything right, but the last few games it started doing this. I always go back and look at the games and happened to notice it so I fixed it in the pitch by pitch.

We just tested this scenario on an iPad. Created a new game. Put first batter on base with a walk. Tapped the runner, Courtesy Runner, and selected a different player from the list of players as the courtesy runner. Lineup on left still shows the original player (as it should), and baserunner shows as the courtesy runner (as it should).

Used Misc->End Inning, and Misc -> End Inning again to bring back up the original team.

Used Misc -> Skip Batter until the original batter was up at bat again.

Player name of original batter is correct (i.e. it is not showing the courtesy runner's name in the next inning).

Can you give us a series of steps like the above where it is leaving the courtesy runner in place of the original player? If you use Pinch Runner or Sub a player in, then yes, the player will stay. But using "Courtesy Runner" as above, the player should not stay as the new player.

I'll tell you what it says on the pitch by pitch. Courtesy runner Heafner in for miller. Then in the 3rd inning when miller comes back up I have to sub her in (after game in pitch by pitch because I didn't notice it in the game) and it says: substitution visitor 10 Miller in for 6 Heafner.

The only reason I noticed it was I was looking at pitching stats.

She was not entered as a sub she was entered as a courtesy runner. It's no big deal just thought y'all might want to know.

Something else I didn't mention was I had to sub her back in as pitcher in the bottom of the 2nd. If you would like I can email you the pitch by pitch and you can see where she (6) was entered as a courtesy runner and see where I had to sub her (10) back in after the game to get everyone where they were at.

If you can do an Options -> Export and email your customer ID (found on Options screen) to support@iscoresports.com and let us know which game, inning, and players (please include your info from the above message in the email), we will take a look at the data to see what is going on.

After looking at it I had to sub her in every time she had a courtesy runner. The way I put the runner in was holding on runner then pressing courtesy runner then choosing runner. Like I said I didn't notice any of this until after the game and realized the pitching stats were off, then I looked at the hitting stats and my pitcher only had one AB. But after going back to the pitch by pitch and subbing it fixed all the stats.... After the game

I do love this program !!!
