Batter leaves the game

Post by boricua1213 » Thu Apr 19, 2012 11:51 am

This happens often in little league. In my division all players bat. 9 field.

How do I score when a player leaves the game early?

I tried to skip batter but when I did app recorded an out. So I deleted him from the line up. But when I generated score card after the game he was not there and score card had entries on the bottom with no line.

On Android.

You had it right the first time. Skip batter. You are actually asked if it should count as an out or not.

You should not delete players once the game has started. As you noted, the scorecard results will no longer line up.

When you go to the Misc >> Skip Batter button, it should then ask you if the skipped batter should result in an out. Just click "No".

I don't remember getting asked that question. Hmm, it seems I was distracted. I going to try it next game.

Why don't you count him out?

He left the game cause of other commitments. Since the team does not have a bench (can't sub) and has more than 9 players so can continue the game. The lineup will just continue to the next batter.

This is little league not MLB... :) Actually quite common not to count a skipped batter as out, especially for the younger leagues.

Never been in a pony league, travel team or little league since my kids were 5 that let batters leave a game. That's just plain silly.

mprusak - Correct.

Camerabry. wrong. Many leagues allow such in their rules.
