I did that. Do you have to add them to the team roster before adding to a line up roster to have them show in cumulative stats?

You can add them before or after, but the player needs to be selected from the existing list, not added as a new player.

So if you add a player during the game, they will not show up in your cumulatve stats?

The easiest way to ensure they are is to press options-copy liineup to roster. That will make sure any additions you make during a game will show up on a team's master roster.

Many people do not do this as they may use pickup players in a game, but wouldn't necessarily want those players' stats showing up in cumulative team stats.

If you add a player during a game from the existing roster, they will show up. If you add a player during the game by creating a new player on the lineup screen, you should tap the Options button in the bottom right and then tap the "Copy Lineup -> Roster" button to add that player to your roster as well. Then he will show up in the cumulative statistics.

Players in the LINEUP show up in Game Stats.

Players in the team ROSTER show up in Team Stats (cumulative stats).

When you create a new game, the ROSTER becomes the default LINEUP for a new game, but you can make changes during a game. If you add new players to a LINEUP, then do not automatically get added to the ROSTER (you may have a temporary / pool player during a game for example, and not want him to show on the Team Stats, but he would still show in Game Stats).

Is there any way to fix this? If I went back to the game and did undo for two innings to get to that subsitution point, would this fix it since that player is now on the roster?

You can just go to the Pitch by Pitch listing and sub the player in there. If that is not working, check to make sure you do not already have a sub later in the game that is replacing the player again with a different player. One quick way to check is to look on the scorecard and see how the players positions are changing by inning.

If you want to use Undo and re-score from that point forward, that would work as well.

Finally fixed it. I did an undo for final two innings and made substitutions correctly. After I did this the pitcher was still not showing up in the cumulative team stats. So I tried a suggestion from earlier about copy the line up to the roster. My roster now had two players with the same name and one of them showed up in the pitching stats. I then merged the two players and now everything appears to be correct.
