Courtesy Runner

Post by jckramer » Tue Apr 10, 2012 6:27 am

The following has happened to me a in a couple of games while scoring. Player reaches base, a courtesy runner is used. The next time the player comes to the plate, the at bat is scored in pitch by pitch to the last courtesy runner not the actual batter. Though the at bat is scored correctly to the actual batter in stats.

You are tapping the runner on base and then tapping Courtesy Runner, not Pinch Runner, right? When this has happened to you is it in a following inning or is your team batting through the lineup in the same inning?

yes, i tap the runner on base and select "courtesy runner". Everything on the main display looked ok. The actual batter showed as the one batting, though after the at bat was finished or scored it showed up in "pitch by pitch" wrong.

If you can do an Options -> Export and email us your customer ID (found on Options screen) and which game it was and which player/inning, we can take a look at your data. Send the email to support@iscoresports.com.

I just checked the play by play from the web and it is correct, I also went back to the pitch by pitch on my iPad, and it shows the wrong info. So it is only wrong on my iPad and did not get exported wrong. The export was ok. I've gone back through a few other games, only this one game has this occurred. The only difference is in this game during this inning. The 9 player lineup was batted through nearly twice. So the actual batter came up, got on base, and replaced with a courtesy runner. The batter comes up again in the same inning, everything looks good, but the courtesy runner from last at bat is used in place of the actual batter in "pitch by pitch". All stats are calculated correctly with actual batter.

Yeah, that was something we asked in our original response above is if the lineup had batted through in the same inning. We have seen this come up before, and as you noted, all stats are correct, and it is only the pitch by pitch text that has it wrong. We have this on our list of things to fix. If you can do the export as requested, we can use your data as a test case when we come up with a fix.
