Can't purchase MLB2012 roster add on

I'm having trouble with adding the MLB2012 rosters for the iScoreBaseball app on my iPhone. I used it last year, no problem. Tried to get the update and I get this message: You can't purchase this. You must purchase the app that this item is for before you can purchase the item. Purchase failed.

You will get this message if you are running the iPhone version of the application on the iPad. Are you running on an iPad now?

Just running on the iPhone, not the iPad. Thought at first it was an iTunes store issue but that's not the case (I'm able to download other non-free apps). Any other thoughts?

We would suggest completely existing out of iScore and restarting it. We just confirmed that purchasing is working fine from an iPhone here. To completely exit out, make sure you are on your "home screen" on the iPhone, then double tap the Home button. You will see all your "running apps" revealed at the bottom of the screen. Place your finger on the iScore icon down there until it begins to "shake". Press the "-" that appears there (if an "x" appears, do not press that, it means you held your finger on the main application and not the "running application" at the bottom).

Then restart iScore, and see if you can make the purchase. Let us know if this works. We did hear of someone having this issue one other time and this helped.

I tried that and I tried shutting down the phone and restarting, neither worked. I would just delete the iScore app and reinstall but I don't want to have to pay $9.99 again. Any other ideas?

You would not have to pay again to re-install iScore. Just be sure to do an Options -> Export of your data first to put a backup on our servers, then uninstall, then go the App Store on your device and go to the Purchased tab, and iScore should be listed there (you can actually make sure it is listed on the Purchased tab first), and you can select it to re-install. Then immediately do an Options -> Import after installing to retrieve your data back to the device.

I just deleted the app and re-installed after exporting and reimporting my data. Same error message. I'm not sure what else to do.

It sounds like Apple is not recognizing that you have purchased iScore for some reason. Is it possible you have jailbroken the device? We do not put anything in the app to prevent it from running on jailbroken devices when it has been purchased legitimately, but maybe Apple prevents In App purchases from jailbroken devices.
