PLAY BY PLAY PRINT OUT

Post by jessebaseball » Fri Jun 03, 2011 8:46 pm

I DONT KNOW IF IT IS POSSIBLE, BUT I WOULD LIKE THE OPTION TO PRINT THE PLAY BY PLAY OF A SCORED GAME, I KNOW THAT IT IS POSSIBLE, BUT I WOULD LIKE ALL THE NOTES AND BALL LOCATION PRINTED AS IT SHOWS ON THE DEVICE. BUT THE BALL LOCATION IS IMPORTANT TO ME. I ASK THIS BECAUSE FOR THE TIMES WE FALL BEHIND WE CAN GO BACK HOME AND SCORE A NEW GAME WITH THE PRINTED INFORMATION, ALLOWING US TO "SPLICE TWO GAMES TOGETHER"

This has been covered before on the board, but appreciate the re post so FTM can monitor user interest to help prioritize..

1- play by play, is available for every game on the ADMIN web site (my.iscorecentral.com) and on subscription TEAM sites. Play by Play is a summary of pitch by pitch. This can be cut and paste or printed from there.

2- pitch by pitch is not currently available for print out. Only viewable on the mobil device.

3- notes. Are visible in both play-by-play and pitch by pitch. FTM has indicated they expect notes to be included on scorecard print out in a future version. Currently notes are not printed out by them selves.

4- hit locations, currently hit locations are indicated on the scorecard print out. But not to the same level of detail as on the device. individual player hit spray charts, are available on admin and team site, by team and then player, but not by game..

FTM
The idea to include the game specific hit charts, (for both teams, listed in batting order) in the PDF scrorecard file, is a neat idea that i have not seen mentioned lately.. not heard if that is high on the priority list. I would add a plus one to this idea.

For the game specific hit charts, we actually already show the hit location + type right on each box in the PDF scorecard, so adding an additional hit chart to the PDF would just be duplicate information.

yes hit location and type is noted on the scorecard (as i mentioned in my #4)
but the scale is smaller and does not have the same detail as the hit chart

i disagree it would be overly redundant to append the player hit charts to the scorecard or offer an additional email option to send teams hit charts by players for a game in line up order. . the larger scale of spray charts alone, makes the information more than duplicative. currently when you print hit charts for a team, it is player alpha order and cumulative, having them in batting line up order and for a specific game is different.

For our team, we would like a game report that showed each hitter's at bat and the pitch location for the hit. From that, we could discuss with the batter the correct hit placement for a given pitch. For example, an outside pitch should be hit to opposite field... pulling an outside pitch is almost always a ground-out, right, coaches?

For opponent scouting, I want to know which pitches he likes to swing at... like em high and fast, but cant do anything with it? We want to find the weakness for each batter... Ours and thiers... Ours to correct; theirs to exploit!

The more I consider it... I believe a pitch location for each recorded "swing" would be useful for this type of review.

Thoughts?

You can review the Pitch by Pitch to see this information. Or view the iScorecast.

A lot of times if a kid has a real bad tendency, I change his name so that I see it instantly.
