iPad 2 blanked out during 5th game

This past Sunday I scored 5 full games, 3 only went 1 hour & 40 min, 2 of them went two full hours. In the middle of the 5th game I was in the middle of scoring a play and my screen pretty much went blank (white), there were outlines of different elements from the scoring screen showing up but that was it. I had to power off and power back up again and it was fine, but otherwise it was totally locked up. Has anyone had this problem? I didn't know if maybe having my iPad on and working on it so much was the problem? Also because my battery was running low, I had it plugged into a heavy duty grounded extention cord and then to the outlet.

The only time we have really heard of the iPad crashing are running out of battery, or overheating. The iPad can overheat even if it is not real hot outside if you keep it face up in direct sunlight.

This was actually around 8:30 that night. It had about a 45% charge thanks to the extension cord. I was thinking maybe a surge or something, but just thought I'd ask. That's the only time I've ever had an issue with it.
