Assigning leagues

Post by 70clcl » Sun Nov 06, 2011 3:45 pm

I have come to a point where I think I have to reconfigure my leagues.

I have been holding out on doing this in the hope that I would some day get my wish of being able to include AND logic in league selection. But, it doesn't look like that dream is going to come true for me.

I have about 250 games scored across my children's 2 teams. (Probably about 5 seasons each.) I need to make a bunch of different leagues (fall 2009, spring 2010, etc, fall 2009 morning/afternoon/evening, etc, 2009 spring city league/2009 spring tournament, etc). [wow, I'm starting to scare myself with how many leagues I need to create.]
Is there a quicker way of assigning games/teams to new leagues than on the device? I can potentially be here for several hours configuring this correctly!

P.S. I still think this would be so much better (and make the product so much more valuable) if users were given the option about how to filter/include different leagues.)

There is currently only one way to assign games to leagues... go to Game Manager, select your game, select Leagues, and check/uncheck the leagues the game should/should not be in.
Check out the new iScore Baseball documentation page!
Includes videos and user manual.

@70clcl... not sure what you are doing but perhaps you may need to slice and dice the data in excel instead of using leagues in the handheld?.. not sure if it would serve your needs or be easier, but may be an option..

What I'm tempted to do, actually, is somehow get ahold of all of the data (probably excel), import it into my own database, and then build the queries myself so I can get to the data I'm looking for in the way I'm envisioning. This method would not necessarily make the information instantly available on the sideline, but maybe I could come up with some other small app that would ingest iScore data and group/filter it in some other fashions.

There's no API that is exposed somewhere in the application that I can somehow exploit is there? Is there possibly any exposed web-services I could use to get exported data for my particular team using my team website?

@70clcl

I am not with FTM, ...but an email to FTM directly on the idea of api, may be in order.. FTM does not have a formal api as i understand it but they have some partner program (not sure dollars or rights of use etc..) but they have partnered/shared data maps with third parties before if they felt in the best interest of the iscore community.. if you are willing and able to build an app and put in iTunes store.. FTM may be able to provide you a data map you need..
