"League" sorting.

Post by randkos3 » Wed Sep 21, 2011 8:01 pm

Somebody please help me figure this out. This refers to "League" names and how they're sorted.

I noticed when I go to pick a league name, while I'm in "Game Manager", that the Leagues seem to be sorted in Increasing increments (i.e. League Name 2010-09-23 is first, League Name 2010-10-03 is 2nd, League Name 2011-01-28 is 3rd, etc.). But when I go to "League Manager" - the sorted list is scrambled - not sorted alphabetically, numerically, increasing or decreasing. I have noticed that this list is sorted and displayed differently from time to time - and I can't figure out what I've done to make this happen.

Is there some way to force the Leagues to sort alphabetically or numerically? Better yet, I'd really like the sort to work in Decreasing Increments so that my tournaments would be listed as: 2011-09-18 (1st), 2011-08-26 (2nd), 2011-08-01 (3rd), etc. from the top of the page to the bottom. This would allow for my most recent Tournament to be placed at the top of the page.

This is not an earth shattering issue . . . which says something - when the request is for something small - you (we) have an excellent product.

Thanks iScore.

Which version of software and device are you using. The league manager does sort alphabetically on my devices.. (sometimes, have to fully restart program to force sort)

Maybe that's it - fully restart the program. I'll try that.

The other thing, can it do a "Decreasing" sort?

(By the way, I have an iPad2 - just upgraded to the new version 3.35)

yep on an iPad, need to fully exit and re start the program sometimes to force the resort (home button, hold home button, make visible active app ribbon, hold iscore app icon, to get red minus sign, tap minus sign, close).

sort is only ascending alpha, Tip- I force active leagues to top of list with period or blanks in the names

Have not noticed any difference in v 3.35 on this but have not used 3.35 much as it just came out yesterday, but that is how version 1,2,3 has worked before.

Thanks OTex, I'll try the Home buttom sequence.

I've done the "-" sign in front of my "League" names to force the "Leagues" up to the top - but - since my leagues are then tied to a date (-YYYYMMDD) it still puts my oldest entry - Jan 1 (smallest number) at the top - and not exactly what I want. I'm toying with the idea of putting a number in front of the League name - if I start with a large number, say 1000, and increment backwards for each new League - then my newest "League" will always be at the top of the page. This might work . . .
