Batters Left On Base

Post by bepeacock » Sun Aug 28, 2011 6:55 pm

Bases were loaded and batter hit into a 6-4-3 double play. Normally I just say "held up" for batters left on, but in this case I can't. I guess that means I've been doing it wrong. So how am I supposed to enter it? Advance by batter for each runner and just say "run didn't score" for the guy on third? (The only quirk I noticed about that is on the scoresheet it looks like two runners were left on third). That's the only way I could correctly get the right base runners who were forced out in the DP at the right base.

That is the correct way to score it... for the runner on third, touch Home, and "run didn't score". For the runner on second, touch Third, and then Force Out for the runner coming from first.

Okay thanks. Seems after a almost a whole season, I'm still learning things! Which is good in a way...goes to show the well thought out depth this app handles all possible scenarios.

The easiest way to score it is to use the quick outs. Just swipe the out button and then choose the 6-4-3 double play. This will handle everything correctly and has the advantage of fewer taps. Unfortunately, I had to use this twice in consecutive innings for my son's team this weekend at the NYBC. Two bases loaded inning ending double plays. Ouch.
