Edit/deleting leagues

Post by Reds Fan » Mon Aug 22, 2011 10:32 am

I added a league in League Mgr and called it 2012. There is also a league in there called default. I can select either league (blue check mark).

When I try to edit/delete the 2012 league it won't let me and the keyboard doesn't pop like it does for the default league. Am I doing something wrong here?

A further question on the same subject. Can I delete the 2011 leagues so that they don't clutter up the league screen in 2012, without deleting the stats associated with those leagues? I realize that I will lose the ability to group the stats by the different leagues, if I delete the various leagues, but since the season is over for the 16u all the coach wants is the total stats for the whole season and I would think that by checking "all" it will still total all of the games for me. Thanks, once again, for your advise!

@RedsFan - There are only two leagues that can not be deleted... the "ALL" league and the "Default" league. If you have another league that is not deleting, then it sounds like you have renamed one of these two leagues, and should name it back, and create a new league called "2012". (I believe the Android version allows you to rename the "ALL" league which can lead to confusion.)

@brian_oshea - Yes, you can delete the old leagues if you would like. As you noted, it just means you would not be able to group the stats on those leagues. No actual data is deleted when you delete a league other than the league itself. (i.e. all player stats remain).

Thank you for your reply. I agree with your answer. I think I did rename one of the db's.

@ brian_oshea -

personal tip..
I have found looking back over time, I like having old leagues around on my device. (oh we played that tournament that year,)) instead of deleting, i rename them to longer names with year. sometimes i also force sort the leagues by putting a Z in front of their name or a space in front of name to force them to bottom or top of the list on my handheld device.

On the team web site, you can use the settings page to lock in "all" if you think the drop down list is too confusing for coaches.

My two cents
@RedsFan, the all league is special and should remain ALL for safekeeping.
